Reacting to the declaration of a state of emergency in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states, the UN scribe through his spokesperson, Martin Nisirky, said the continued violence in the Northern region of the country was a threat to national peace and stability.
Ban who appealed to all extremist groups to cease their attacks, reiterated his firm conviction that “no objective could justify such use of violence.”
He called on government at all levels to fully respect human rights and safeguard the lives of all Nigerians.
